The Meserani Project – Empowering Girls and Women Part Two
The modern bra as we know it, was first invented and patented by Mary “Polly” Phelps Jacob, (also known as Caress Crosby), on 13 November 1914. She was a privileged American socialite, patron of the arts, peace activist and publisher, and was committed to women’s rights.

When Erimus Rotary was chartered in 1985 it was decided to twin with a European club which chartered in the same year. After a little research, The Zuidhorn Club (now Groningen-West) in The Netherlands was chosen. A group of us visited Zuidhorn and the following year a group of Dutch Rotarians and their partners visited Middlesbrough.
Santa Report
This year’s Christmas Collections have raised almost £4,500 in support of local charities.
In September, plans were made for Erimus members to accompany Santa at McDonald’s in Middlesbrough, Asda in South Bank and on six street collections around Acklam, Marton and Nunthorpe. Arrangements were also made for a collection at Coulby Newham Parkway Centre, with musical accompaniment, and a sponsored online Advent Calendar.
Wrap Up Campaign Wrapped up
This year’s wrap up has seen well in excess of 3,000 items of warm clothing donated by generous Teessiders which are now being redistributed across the region to adults and children in need of warm coats for the winter.
A NEW theory of Relativity – in Middlesbrough
Most people recall that the Theory of Relativity figured out by Albert Einstein is represented by the
Equation E = MC 2 .
This week there was an alternative explanation for the equation as E (Erimus Rotary) was given a fresh boost of energy and support from their new relative MC(Middlesbrough College) Twice !

Rotary supported ECO Shop opens in Coulby Newham
Tuesday 17th October saw the official opening of the new ECO shop in Coulby Newham. The shop has been supported by Erimus Rotary both with the provision of a large storage facility and the grant of £250 towards the purchase of food through the Fare Share system.
