On Saturday 9th October a team from Middlesbrough Erimus Rotary completed a ‘Courtyard Makeover’ at one of ‘My Sister’s Place’ houses of refuge in central Middlesbrough. Club members had used surplus decking timber to manufacture 5 planters and a raised bed. The planters, painted a cheery shade of blue were transported to the site where J..Parr had kindly donated a large bag of rich topsoil matching an equally generous donation of plants and shrubs from D. Wilkinson of Cherry Hill Nursery. Community Service Lead Dave Whittaker had manufactured two fine bench seats out from metal skeletons trawled from a scrapyard which now look great in situ. The club are hoping for a mural to complete the stylish makeover which site manager Emma described as ‘A wonderful transformation.
