Rotary North East Support via Middlesbrough Erimus

June 2022 Update

If you are able and want to support then please leave a donation here

A message from Inowroclaw Rotary President, Rafał Mikołajewski:

“In these difficult times, we are very grateful for all of the donations from your Clubs in aid of the work of Rotary in Poland to support the Ukrainian people”

Inowroclaw Rotary continues to purchase and transfer goods into Ukraine
• The Club is leading efforts to support refugees arriving and settling in the local area

Middlesbrough Erimus Rotary is “twinned” with three Mainland European Clubs:
• Groningen West, Netherlands
• Limburg, Germany
• Inowroclaw, Poland
• Members from the four Clubs usually meet up annually for a “twinning weekend”
• At each meeting, the host Club proposes an International project which, subject to approval, receives 1000 euros from each Club. Often, projects also benefit from District grants
• After a three year gap due to Covid, representatives of the four Clubs met in Limburg 10-12 June
• Inowroclaw representatives gave additional information relating to the Ukrainian refugee appeal and how funds were being used
• Clubs reiterated their continuing support for the efforts of the Polish Club and confirmed acceptance of Limburg’s proposal that 2022 “twinning project” funds were re-assigned to the Polish appeal
• Clubs were alerted to the opportunity for Districts to apply for Foundation Disaster Response Grants to support Ukrainian refugees

Up to 26 June Middlesbrough Erimus has sent £39540 to the Polish Rotary Ukraine appeal on behalf of Rotary North East (District 1030) Clubs and their many supporters

District has secured a Foundation Emergency Response Grant of $25000 to support Ukrainian refugees. $15000 will be sent to Inowroclaw, with $10000 remaining in the UK to provide help and assistance to refugees who have arrived in the North East
